Growing up as the son of lifelong educators in the South Carolina School System instilled in me a deep appreciation for
dedication and service.

My mother taught for over thirty years, and my father spent over thirty years in education, retiring as an Associate
Superintendent for the Horry County School District. Every day, they made sacrifices and tough decisions to help students achieve their goals and become the best versions of themselves.

Beyond education, hard work and perseverance run deep in my family. One of my grandfathers was a farmer, and the other was a steelworker. Both started with very little and worked tirelessly to support their families. The values they instilled in me—hard work, loyalty, and compassion—have shaped my approach to practicing law.

Personal injury law allows me to advocate for clients at their most vulnerable moments. Whether they are up against a multi-billion-dollar insurance company or a negligent party, I am committed to protecting those who need it most.

My personal and professional bonds with clients allow these values to shine. These deeply ingrained principles drive
everything I do for each client I represent.

Right leaf ABOUT JEFF Left leaf
My Philosophy

My path to law is guided by one fundamental belief: the legal profession allows me to use my talents and skills to help the most people.

While knowledge and expertise are essential, empathy is the most important attribute a lawyer can possess. I work for you—not the other way around. Too many lawyers forget that.

Yes, I am here to counsel, advocate, write, and argue, but my most important role is to listen.

Experience

I have been practicing law since 1999 and have handled thousands of cases. Due to their significant and impactful nature, some of my cases have been reported in the news. In contrast, others have reached South Carolina’s Appellate Courts, successfully overturning lower court decisions that were unfair to my clients.

My legal experience includes extensive work in Workers’ Compensation, Auto Accidents, Wrongful Death, Medical Malpractice, and other serious Personal Injury cases. Each year, I recover millions of dollars for my clients.

Before becoming a lawyer, I worked in the golf course industry, where I started as a laborer responsible for maintaining courses and surrounding grounds. I took great pride in making those courses the best they could be. Over time, I worked my way up to Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Throughout my early years, I also worked in:

  • Farming
  • Landscaping
  • Construction
  • Food & Beverage Service
  • Lifeguarding on the oceanfront
  • Nightclub security

These experiences shaped my understanding of hard work, physical labor, and perseverance. I’ve suffered my fair share of work-related injuries, undergone back surgery, and dealt with chronic pain—giving me a deep, personal understanding of what my clients go through. Because of this, I can genuinely empathize with them.

I take pride in giving my clients the personal attention they deserve. I approach every case I handle with care and attention to detail and am committed to securing the best possible outcome.
